geekin out

I am totally enamored with my new ipod and find new uses for it every day like incredible podcasts for music, story telling and spanish learnin, free apps, like seafood watch and lunar calendars. Plus I can call home on it. I can listen directly to soundcloud or watch movies on it too. Its like this little pocketsize computer. Alright, enough, but I´ve just never had new electronics before. I was the last person ever to get a mobile phone and all my ipods were used. So anyways, my birthday party on Friday was incredibly fun. I came home from the coffee shop at around 8 after doing a bunch of homework and found everyone grilling food outside. There was wine tasting and mimosas, and a huge dinner accompanied by indian music videos. They gave me a pink tanktop that says i heart brc, which means bariloche, but also stands for black rock city. Its been so sunny and beautiful this past week. Last weekend I went hiking with some friends and camped by a river. That night was the best sleep I´ve had in a while. In the morning I just didn´t want to get up because the sound of the river was so soothing, but the sun started beating down on the tent and I had this dream that I was trying to undress to take a bath but every time I pulled off my shirt there was another one under it. I called Lindsey for help and she brought some scissors and started cutting my clothes off, but there kept just being more and more layers underneath and started freaking out because I was so hot and trapped. I finally woke up and jumped out of my sleeping bag. I made some incredible pesto the other day with Terra. We went on a walk and found a cheese shop accross from a pasta shop, and got inspired for some italiano food. So excited that I got my ticket! Now I just need to get a ticket to Prague. I´ll be gone for a little over 2 weeks, wish it could be longer, but I´ll probably be so broke by then and that euro is stronger than the dollar so that´ll suck. I can´t imagine how I´m going to go back to speaking Italian. I can just see myself trying to communicate in broken spanish and getting nowhere. But I really don´t care because I´m so excited to go back there! And I get to see baby Micah! I was just looking at some pictures of him and his cute little cheeks and I just really wanted to hang out with him. So happy that I will be able to.

  1. It's so nice to try at the end of the day to see if you've blogged--and you have! It's like having tea with my girl. You missed a nice walk on a snowy evening here with me and Dad and Sandy and the 2 dogs--very peaceful, quiet, and perfect snow that invited snowball making. Went to slush this morning but was nice last night. Love those river sounds you heard, though. Am playing some racketball with Josie and Ferhan at the Y each week--really fun. I think you'll see a lot of growth in them, too, when you return. Dad's birthday coming up. Roger's is today. Love you! Mom
